It looks like National Cycle has made a different Vstrom windshield I believe still called a VStream, but the newer one looks better. Does anyone have or tried this new one, does it cause more front head wobble? Will it work with a madstad? Just curious.

Windscreens don't cause wobbles but can cause buffeting. I can't think of a screen that won't work with a Madstad other than very early MP screens that had their own mounts. Any screen that fits the stock bike mounts will fit a Madstad.

Front end wobble caused by worn or loose steering stem bearings will be worse with a big windscreen being pushed around by the wind. Fixing the bearings is necessary. Black Lab has an excellent write up with photos.

I agree....i swapped my buddies "old version" vstream onto my madstad and was amazed how much less buffeting it was. I even borrowed it for my big bend ride.

i went to order the vstream when I got back, and saw this new one....i hope its as good.

It appears both models are available for the same $160.US. . .
The old N20212

And the smaller N20213

My 23" CeeBaily is getting a little tired. Perhaps the new VStream will be a nice change.
Thanks for posting the new product find!

you call it smaller but is it really? the specs I found were

N20212 (older) = 23" tall
N20213 = 22.8" tall

Is that the difference you were referring to?

I am just wondering because I wanted the older screen, but couldnt get it, so I got the new one.

I have a madstad bracket with the MP windscreen on it now (came on the bike when I bought it) and I must be too tall or something, because my buddy's vstream worked better for me.

Just saw this post jump to the front, forgot all about it. I bought the new screen and have about three hundred miles on it. A little cold out now. Definitely better than the stock, however, I will probably run the stock here in the hot Missouri (summer) weather. If I keep the screen all the way up with the MadStad I can still see over it. I am 6'3. I prefer it in the middle of the MadStad slide and tilted about halfway back. Eliminates buffeting for me. If you wear a full face it will fog even with the helmet chin bar open at slower speeds. Thats how much wind it protects you from. Very well made and thick.

1.) Yes. It's narrower too.
2.) The old screen? Click this link: National Cycle: Products: My Order
With a catalog number and an order page, it would be surprising that the old screens are no longer available yet listed on the web site with a price & stock number.
And I kinda' like the old gaudy beast.
3.) I went through great expense & aggravation to kill the wind noise on my GS500F, and couldn't!
I tried many windscreens, Laninar Lip's, various spoilers, etc... Nothing worked. I felt defeated, (and was going broke).
Then I found Mark at Madstad Engineering and within a few phone calls he custom fabricated a system that turned my noisy drafty GS500 into a warm quite late model Goldwing.
Here's a look at my review: MadStad Windscreen Review (w/photos)

If you like I can send you some photos of my current DL1000 set-up with measurements so you can get an idea of how high & wide I had to go to get my Vee quite at highway speed.
IMHO, a cold noisy bike is simply unacceptable!
Well, other than my Sportster.

NOTE: Dear Admin (topic police), If you would like this thing cut & moved into its own thread, just say the word because I think we're about to fatten up chubby's VStream thread in a big way.
Not a problem :cheers2:

I spoke to the National Rep at the NY Motorcycle show and he did say they had re-designed the shield. He said they wanted to take some of the futuristic zigzag look out of it and after more testing, they came up with a better design...

I have the new N20213 and it does block a lot more wind than the stock. I am 6'2" and have it set one up from the bottom. I still get some wind slapping around from the sides, but think it is caused from the mirrors. I have some mirror risers coming from Rick and hope they correct that issue.

It says it's nearly 23" tall. Do you suppose that it's too tall for a 5'9" with a 31" inseam?
Nope! I'm 5' 10" and 30-in inseam, and I can see over mine just fine!!

'Course, I do have it set in the lowest position on the Madstad bracket, but tilting it back half-way or 3/4 of the way back improves both the "over the top" vision and also the windstream.

I have the tall Givi on my Vee and it's okay, but I just got a fairly tall National VStream for my Kawasaki Ninja 1000 (yeah I know) and I really like it. Feels more solid than the Givi and well-designed to decrease buffeting. I'm wishing I had the VStream for the Vee.
