My apologies - How to open a Suzuki Top Case?

My apologies for an ignorant question. I cannot open the Suzuki top case on my salvage project '22 1050X. I have the key, can unlock the handle, rotate the handle up and remove the case from the bike. However, I cannot open the case.

It could be damaged; but odds are that I am not doing something correctly. Is there a latch or something I am missing to open the case? My wife is getting annoyed with the top case sitting on her kitchen table.

Typically on that type of case you turn the key one way to pop the lid and the other way to raise handle and remove case.

Thank you for replying. The key turns counterclockwise to raise handle and remove the case. The key will not turn clockwise. I don't think it is designed to on this case. But then again, I'm no expert.
Can't speak to that lock, but this works on any other. Have you tried moving key in and out, with gentle pressure to the side you want it to turn, at the same time as key is being manipulated? The in/out manipulation is slight, and it should be be repeated, at varying speed. Sometimes the key grind doesn;t always like the tumblers. Play with it. In/out, in/out, barely, Barely!!, but rapidly. And always with that slight pressure to the side.

Doing this, you are, in effect, "picking" the lock in manipulating the tumblers. At some moment, you'll feel the key begin to turn to that side you want it to. You'll get it.
Finally got the case open. Turning the key counter counterclockwise also opens a lever that must be pulled up to open the case. I wrestled with it prior to posting but stopped in fear of breaking something. Closer examination with a flashlight showed the lever connected to a rod above it. I pulled the lever a little harder and prayed some and it finally gave. Some cleaning and oil made it operate more easily. All good now. Thanks to those that responded.
