It looks like Saturday, 5/10, is going to be my next group ride.

Anyone interested? Pavement only or mixed dirt / pavement? Speak up and I'll stitch a route together.

Got a route planned:

346 miles & just a bit over 8 1/2 hours of seat time.

Meeting at 08:00 the QT on Towne Lake Pkwy just west of Woodstock ( just west of 575 ).

1st Leg:
Woodstock, Ga to Highlands, Tn
167 miles
3:44 minutes

The first leg of this ride will be a bit of slab. I choose to get this out of the way at the beginning of the ride. The return trip will be full of twisty roads, the best that North Ga has to offer. We will take a short break in Blue Ridge, Ga. The next stop will be in Franklin, NC. this will be a petrol stop. On the way to our lunch stop we will stop at Bridal Veils Falls for a photo Op. Our lunch stop is only minutes away at Highlands Smokehouse BBQ in Highlands, NC. This completes the first leg of our journey.

2nd Leg:
Highlands, Tn to Canton, Ga
179 miles
4:38 minutes

The second leg is where the fun really begins. We will be taking 28 southeast out of Highlands, NC down to Warmwoman rd where we will enter back into Georgia. We’ll make a petrol stop in Clayton, Ga. After we top off our tanks, we'll head west out of Clayton, Ga. over to 197 ( one of my favorites ) around Lake Burton. We’ll take 197 down to 356 for the ride over to Helen, Ga. where we’ll turn north and then west onto alt75. Our next destination will be 348 ( aka Richard Russell, another favorite of mine ). The end of 348 will put near the infamous 129, but don’t get your hopes up as we’re not staying ( 129 is a LEO magnet ). We’ll be opting for the road less travelled which will put on 180 ( aka Wolf Pen Gap rd ) for the ride over to Suches. We will stop at TWoS for short break. Next up will be the great hwy 60. We’ll be heading south to pick up 19 for the ride into Dahlonega, Ga. We will actually ride around the north side of Dahlonega ( back roads, of course ). Our next destination, several miles away, is hwy 136, which will give us a twisty ride over towards Talking Rock, Ga. We’ll turn off before reaching Talking Rock and take several back roads to Canton, Ga where our ride will officially end.

GPX files of the route are available upon PM request.
