Just accepted a job offer that has me (and my dog) moving to Columbus, Indiana. Any one in the area have any advice? Good areas, areas to avoid, good apartments, bad apartments? Anyone have a House for rent?

Any advice would be helpful.

Avoid anywhere downtown. Either it's trashy or your house is going to flood. :green_lol: I grew up there when it was still thriving.

Check out River Stone Apartments. It's on the west side of town, but you're not far from some great roads in Brown County, including 135 south to Story which is rated one of the best rides in the midwest.

Welcome to Indiana  Always great to have another V in the Neighborhood. I'm a couple of counties West of ya but there are some excellent twisties and scenery in between. No that familiar with Columbus but have been there several times and it's a typical Mid West Medium sized City.

Welcome to Columbus, IN. My wife and I (and our kids) have lived here off-and-on since 1964. We moved back here in '94 for our retirement years and will undoubtedly stay until we're planted. Columbus is a progressive Midwestern town of about 35K. It's ethnically very diverse because of the mix of major businesses in the area.

I think you'll find adequate places to rent -- either an apartment or house. Having the dog might be an issue for some. Naturally, we have our good and bad areas but, with assistance, you should be able to avoid the bad.

Send me a PM with your contact information and an idea of what you will be looking for in terms of housing and I'll try to put you in touch with someone who may be able to assist you.

Once again, welcome to Columbus.
