I am looking to buy an SV1000S and since you V-Strom-ers have had it's motor in your bike for a longer time and do more high mileage riding, I was wondering how durable the motor is and if anyone's had any issues with it. I do high mileage riding (30,000km/yr) so I need a bike I can rely on.

Hello, welcome to the group!

Reliability will be the least of your worries. By design, a 90 degree twin is very stable and Suzuki has done their homework. Keep the throttle bodies synched, have the valves done every 15,000 miles, change the oil regularly, and you'll have a bike that'll give great service until you get tired of it and want something else. I can easily envision 200K and more out of this drivetrain w/out any issues provided it is maintained properly.
