I'm new to the forum and searched for this, so forgive me if it has been asked.

I'm going from a 2004 vstrom to a 2012 vstrom adventure. My question is that the 2012 has a modulator for the headlights already installed with stock headlamps. I am wanting to install LED headlamps. I am unsure of the brand of modulator on the new to me bike and was hoping to order the headlamps before I tear into getting under the cowling. Will modulating be hard on the LEDs. I've searched a few of the companies that make the headlight modulation kits, and they don't specify a lamp type.

Thanks for any info.

The modulator isn't going to work with most LEDs. Most LED's have some sort of voltage regulator system and can take 9-32 volts. The change in voltage isn't going to change the brightness. If the voltage drops below the input range most just shut off.
