There have been many raving reviews and recommendations for the Mitas E07 tires. But while researching them, I came across this chart (from Mitas' website) that describes several other options they offer. I haven't heard many people talking about most of their other offerings (see chart below).

If I commit to going to a 50/50 tire, I'll likely take a crack at those E07's. But for slightly more street oriented and hopefully quieter, longer lasting, grippier (when wet) the other options look viable based on their tread pattern. The E08 looks more comparable to the OEM Battlewings with the MC-24 being between the OEM and the E07's. Whereas the Terra Force-R looks to be even more street oriented than the OEM tires. Of course the tread pattern isn't the whole story.

Has anyone had experience with these other Mitas offerings? Enough to compare them with the OEM BW501/502's? I ride mostly 80-120 miles paved, followed by 10-30 miles dirt/off pavement in order to get to the camping and fishing spots around here and then the same to get back home. Otherwise, I'm commuting 15 miles each way (paved) during good weather. I don't usually intentionally ride in the rain, but have been caught by surprise (or by necessity) several times. I don't usually ride below 40° F.

It seems that the MC-24's are not available in the correct sizes for my Vee2...

I have E-07s on my Vee right now, and I don't care for em, not sure if it's the Mitas rubber, or the chevron tread pattern, next set I'm going back to a big block tread, my last tires were Metzeler Karoo Ts, now obsolete, might try the Mitas E-10s

What is it about them that you don't like? The dirt performance? The street performance? Feel? Handling? Noise? Longevity?

Always nice to hear dissenting opinions, otherwise everybody would be using them, right?

Thanks.

certainly isn't longevity, longest lasting tire I've ran on my Vee except went I was running a car tire, My comparison is Karoo Ts, they are not as smooth on the highway, not as good on wet roads, and nowhere near as good on gravel. just my opinion

Good to know. I haven't heard much about Karoo T's. Gives me something else to look into. Thanks.

obsolete tire, Metzeler no longer makes the Karoo MCE, Karoo T or the Karoo 2, and the new Karoo 3 is not a big block tire
