I have a Madstad bracket with the GIVI screen. With the Madstad in its lowest position I have little wind buffeting up to 60 mph then it rises a bit from there. At 75 mph it is noticable but not difficult.
I raised the Madstad to its highest position and raked it back until the mirrors just missed at full lock. The wind buffeting was noticably reduced at 75 mph. The screen is at my line of sight at the pavement about 30' in front of the bike. I am 5' 9".
So I will keep the Madstad low for messing around town, but for any extended cruising I will raise it and rake it back as noted above.
I sure like the easy adjustability of the Madstad.
I have the Madstad in its highest position with the stock windscreen. The screen is raised almost as high as it will go with rearward lean. Its the best so far at eliminating buffeting, but I think I've realized that the remaining buffeting is actually being caused by the mirrors.
At highway speeds I put my hand up between a mirror and my helmet and can't believe how much rough air the mirrors are pushing. There are some good threads recently about this topic and I think I'll try to extend or relocate the mirrors if I keep the bike.
