I wanted to wait a bit before writing up a review for the screen so I could really get a feel for it. Just completed my Saddlesore 1000 with it, so I think it's about time I did the review. This is the first "tall" screen I have ever used. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not, but I knew I wanted something better than the stock screen on the highway.

For reference, I am 6'3 and use the Suzuki gel seat. I bought the Madstad bracket + Adventure shield combo from Madstad's website. It was a bit pricey, but I took the gamble and went for it. I got the tinted version.

I rode with it for a bit with the bracket on the lower holes and the screen all the way up. It worked pretty well and I was amazed at how much wind noise was eliminated. I like it so much that I wanted to try it a bit higher up. I raised the bracket up to the higher holes and kept the screen adjusted all the way up. Wow! :jawdrop: For the most part, I only hear my engine on the highway now. I look slightly over the screen still and only have to look through it if I'm looking down right infront of the bike. It felt weird at first, but I got used to it after only a couple days.

One downside I noticed is that I can only angle the screen back a little bit before it hits the mirrors on full lock. I think this issue can be eliminated/reduced by getting mirror extenders. I like where the screen is now though, so I haven't tested this theory.

It really is a night and day difference from the stock screen. I am one of the few people who actually didn't have a huge issue with the stock screen either. I had the stock screen adjusted to the lowest holes and was above it enough so I didn't get the constant head shake that some people get. I do a lot of long distance riding though, and wanted a quieter, more comfortable ride on the highway. I definitely achieved that.

It's definitely one of those things where now that I have the added comfort, I wouldn't want to go without it.

Yes, I believe the 22" Madstad Adventure shield is about the same size as the Givi. It has a slightly different shape on the bottom than the Givi. That's the only difference I see.

I have seen that adventure screen also,,, and if i didn't have a Windstrom manta,, I would be allover this screen,,, good revue. With the windstrom, its THICK,, u could hit a duck and it would bounce right off!! but the bottom has those unusual flares or bends, and the top, i wish was just a bit wider,,, but i will have to live with it......
