All right, with help from these forums I was able to install my SW-Motech Convertible Onroad/Offroad footpegs (SKU: 1064083 from revzilla) for my 2016 DL-650. Was looking forward to the extra inch of legroom, since I'm 6'4"

But now I'm trying to lower the rear brake lever to match the newly-lowered footpeg, and I've run out of play, I can't get it any lower. Other threads suggest I need something like the Footpeg and Control Lowering Kit - AdventureTech, LLC. Is that right?

It seems silly to sell these SW Motech lowered footpegs if you can't actually use them to lower your footpegs without buying more stuff, so I suspect I'm missing something?

I have the AdventureTech, rather than the SW-Motech footpeg lowering kit on my DL650 and had no problems at all adjusting the rear brake down, except that I needed to also extend and adjust the brake light switch. It is necessary to extend that switch by rotating the large black plastic hex "nut" which sits in the frame bracket.
Have a look at AdventureTech's website as they have written and video instructions on how to fit their kit. Yours must be similar and will give you some idea of what is wrong.

Or email Rick at AdventureTech and ask details regarding the extender nut he uses in the lowering kit. Any thoroughly-stocked hardware store should carry them. An extender is required for the rear brake actuating rod when lowering the peg. Otherwise the brake pedal will rest at an angle wholly uncomfortable and nigh on unreachable.
