DL1000 remap

I have 2000 miles on my bike, Took two time to the dealer because the cuts at low rpm. They change the iridium spark for regular. The cuts are less now but now some times fart, and don't run smooth. I called 714-572-1490 for Customer service representatives and they told me they are "working" in a new map, but the have to wait EPA authorization, when ready they will call me.
I am not sure how many time this will take, but I want to fix the problem as soon as possible. Any body know someone in MIAMI who can remap the dl1000 ?

Thank you

Mid Range Rough

I own a 2005 DL1000. I bought it used and the previous owner made a few mods to the bike. I use it extensively for cruising and the bike hits a rough spot at about 3500 rpm. That's right at highway cruising speed and when I try to accellerate through it, the bike stumbles before picking up speed. The previous owner removed the secondary throttle plates and when traded the bike in to the dealer, he didn't include them with the bike. I've always assumed that the rough spot was because the secondaries are missing. If I understand what's posted here, that rough spot could be caused by something else. Could you clear this up for me and let me know if we're talking about the same thing?

Just wrong

After running around with Suzuki over this issue, I went out and got the Power Commander for my 2012 DL1000. I had a coast to coast trip planned and didn't want to deal with the problem any longer on my new bike. Suzuki of America told me to live with the problem till they came out with a fix (unknown time frame) . When I told them that it was dangerous and had stalled in slow speed corners, I was advised not to ride it. I did cure the problem with the tuner but it is BS that we have to pay to correct this problem. I have sent out several letters to see if a class action firm would be interested in pursuing this. I am waiting to hear back from them. I had to pay $375 for the tuner and $225 for a custom tune by the dyno shop. This is an unacceptable cost that we have to bare. If you are going to sell a bike in the states, it should be able to perform well and pass EPA standards.

Everyone knows this (those who have ever researched the Vee) before buying... And yet (sorry, no offence) people still buy them...

I have to admit, I did little to no research when I bought the bike. I had a Suzuki when I was a kid and thought it was a good bike so I didn't hesitate when I saw the V after shopping for a large off/on style bike. I am pretty happy with it not that the fuel issue is resolved. I use it mostly on the road but our roads hear in the Northeast are rougher than most dirt roads I had ridden- on when I lived out west. The best thing I like about the bike is the riding position. I broke my back a few times and have chronic pain issues. After owning several bikes over the last few years, I find the Suzuki to be the most comfortable. I just wished they would have resolved the fuel issue. Its more a matter of principal than that of money. When I spoke to Suzuki, they were rude and unapologetic about selling a bike that had drive-ability issues.

Well, it's truely "water under the bridge" now. Being in pretty much the same position as you I have moved past that frustration and now just enjoy the bike with the proper fueling. I'm sure you will be focused on something else to improve your riding experience on the Vee soon.

Was told it would fix it self with some more miles. Well 2500 miles later... ...
it took me a while to get used to the DL1 long legs, especially the 6th. gear OverDrive. once i did, most of the EFI problems just simply went away. IOW's the DL1 likes to be run around or above 4k rpm. if that is to fast for ya (mph) simply run in a lower trannie gear. works ok for me.

I have a DL1000 2012 also and had the same problem, the stall was almost fixed changing the spark plug from Iridium to Normal, any way backfire increase. I buy the PC V from Fuelmoto and all the problem disappear. Despite this I call Suzuki telling that I saw here, in the forum, that somebody get a new ECU. A week later they send a new one for me, test it without PC and the problem was 95% fixed, but I will use the PC V any way because run much better and want all 100% right.

If anyone should form an Anti-Vee movement, I'm confident you would stand a good chance of being elected president of the group ( no offense )

Enjoy your 650 and let us enjoy our Vee's. Many of us are very happy with our choice.
