Maybe the farkling and fussing is just your thing... Who am I to judge? Also wondering if anyone has any tips for putting more miles on their bikes? I live in Cincinnati now, and the riding is terrible. No fun places to ride, and its always traffic and other cars. I put well over 15k miles on my last bike in a matter of 2 years in New York (upstate) where the driving was great and I had friends to ride with all the time.
But if you want to get more miles on your bike you're going to need to get on the road. You'll need a few days and some luggage.
A decent strategy for those that don't have great riding where they live is to divide a 3 day trip as follows:
Day 1) Use the interstate to get close to your riding destination. This may take most of day 1.
Day 2) Ride the excellent roads of your destination.
Day 3) Ride the back route home or stick with the excellent roads for the morning and beat it back to home in the PM using the interstate.
Add additional days as necessary.
Good luck.
