A friend has bought my DL 650 and wants to travel from Johannesburg to Germany. He has never seen a wee at close quarter. Is there someone in DC who can make contact and help my friend decide on a number of issue regarding modification. Will appreciate any help.

I'm confused.
Johannesburg, Germany and Washington are on three different continents.
Maybe your friend should completely unfold his map before planning a route.

I assume the friend is currently in DC, and has bought the bike, which is in Johannesburg, and will travel from there to Germany. Either up the say Egypt, and a boat to Italy, or the long ways around turkey, either of which sounds cool.

I am about 1.5 hours south of DC, not sure if your buddy wants to travel that far.

I'm about 1/2 hour north of DC in upper Montgomery County, MD.

I have a 2008 DL650A with a few farkles: Madstad w/ stock windshield, center stand, OEM Handguards, 3 locking hardcases - JC Whitney large Givi clones, frame sliders.

I'd be happy to let your buddy come see my bike if we can work out a convenient time.

Tell your friend that Coleman Powersports in Falls Church VA (inside the DC Beltway and just across the river from DC proper) has two used DL650's on display in their used bike section that he can go look at to his heart's content. They are also a Suzuki dealer.

I live out in the sticks well west of DC but work right outside the beltway, however the parking lot where my bike is at during the day is quasi-federal property and visiting to come look at any of the parked vehicles isn't a wise activity, so I can't help, sorry.
