So I went into the local motorcycle shop and asked how much a longer break line would be since my barbacks (1" up 1" back) are a bit too far for the current brake line. After disappearing for 20 minutes the guy comes back and says it'll be $110 and proceeds to say how the brake lines are pressed into the joints and you can't replace the line you need a whole new dual line system, one to each caliper.

So with the mechanical prowess of a howler monkey, I was wondering if I was being sold something I don't need, or if to extend the brake line by getting this dual line custom made break setup is the only option for a 2008 Non-ABS Wee. I'm only looking to extend the line an Inch or 1.5 inches if that.

I don't know how the brake lines are set up on a '08 non-ABS Wee, but I got a braided stainless extended line from Blair at SV Racing Parts for $49.

Check with these guys.

http://www.spieglerusa.com/

They do custom lengths, hose colours, fitting colours, whatever. I got a +1" set for my V and they are just what I needed.

barrisers

I have a K7 non ABS Wee and I installed these http://www.barrisersonline.com/forwardrisers78.html. they say forward, but I used them for backward risers 1.5" up and 1.375" back. I did not have to replace the brakeline. I only had to undo the P clip bolt that secures the brake line about half of the way down from the handlebar. I can't see any problem with just leaving it loose because it can't go anywhere and there is no strain on it.
