I just left my local dealer who now has the new 2012 650 Adventure in stock. After looking it over and sitting on it etc, I can't say I am sure it is an improvement. (sorry don't want to let the air out of anyone's bubble) but I got to thinking if it was the other way around if people wouldn't think the 2011 was an improvement. I just don't see anything that makes me want to trade and am glad I got one of the last 2011's got the free bag deal+ a huge discount on the bike itself.

BTW he also has the 1000 Adventure (Black) & straight 1000 Vee in stock also both 2012 models if anyone is looking for any of these bikes they are not sold. Dealer is World Of Power Sports in Decatur, IL. They also have 2 unsold Yamaha Tenre's in stock one black & one blue.

My local dealer stopped carrying Suzuki. They claim Suzuki is not importing near as many bikes into the USA as they used to. Has anyone heard of this?

Well I know some of the model lineup didn't get into the USA last year or two because Suzuki claimed they had plenty left over in selected models in warehouses here I do know this. For now there is plenty of stock here in Decatur of the Suzuki's I think they also have one new 2011 Wee (white) left. I assume you are talking about the Peoria, IL dealer since you are from there. Sometimes there are two stories, the one you hear and the truth. It is no secret a lot of the motorcycle dealers are hurting financially.

BTW WOPS here in Decatur sold over 250 units in March 2012.

The local dealer is very near Peoria, in the town of Pekin. They still carry Honda and Yamaha. They dropped Triumph several years ago. I need to make a trip to Decatur to check out the dealer there. Sounds like a much larger dealer

Did you ride it? What are you basing your opinion on if all you did was look at it and sit on it  It's a motorcycle not a couch.

Come on down I would enjoy meeting you and I can ride down to the dealership I am just a few mins away. I am retired so any day is good for me normally.
Give me a call cell# 217 412-3080 BTW I attend the T.T. both races June & Aug every year. Last year we stayed up at the Grand Hotel there in Peoria for the weekend saw the short track Fri night, rode up to Galesburg Sat night and then the T.T. on Sunday. Last year I think I made about 13 of the Nationals across the country.

yes of course you are 100% correct with your comments. I could ride it my dealer is a close friend of mine and I might but just for my personal taste this was my opinion like I said I don't want to burst anyone's bubble.

I'm also glad I got my white 2011. It was a good deal and I think it looks better than the 2012. I like some of the improvements Suzuki made to the 2012 but don't think it looks better than the 2011 and I don't like the color either. I guess it's all a matter of personal taste.
