I got the one fom Jordans in Leeds. DL650 in Black. Under £3000. High ish mileage but everyone says the engines are good. Condition looks excellent. Previous owner spared no expense. All servicing done on time. Engine bars, Givi rack and pannier rails, Centre stand, fender extenders. Heated grips.
Every morning I walk into the garage and thing 'shhes thats big' having ust come up form a gs500. So far its been great, but I havent had to do a rush hour commute yet. That will come this week. Then we'll see how it filters through out narrow dual carriageways.
I've done about 400 miles so far, so the mileage is going to keep going up.
Being from here - do you visit Squires at all. I live about 3 miles down the road in SherburnInElmet
Glad to hear you got one, a mate of mine just px'd his SV650 for a DL650, he's highly delighted with it.
I find mine good for commuting, only the width of the bars can be a bit awkward at times, I've had a few close shaves when filtering.
I haven't been to Sherburn for about two years 'cause a lot of my pals have got rid of their bikes recently. I'm sure I'll beable to find time come the good weather, if I see your bike I'll have a natter.
Good luck and I'm sure you will enjoy the new toy..
I'm enjoying it already. Its nice parking something BIG.
I have to get used to the how wide the front looks after riding a slim line GS500 for nearly 3 years. I could flat foot both feet on the GS. Now its one foot down and ball of foot on the other side.
Takes so much damn cleaning at present that its hardly worth going out.
Heated grips are nice, as is having lights that show the road, and mirrors that dont just shake around.
Having engine bars should enable me to nudge buses out of my way.
I must be the right size for the stock screen as I dont find it a problem. Then again I've not done any really long rides yet. Just little pootles and some commutes.
I'd like to add a skid pan, and a lube man. But my next couple of purchases will have to be helmet and jacket. My helmets 3 years old, so getting to teh end. M jackets 5 years old, and to be frank, it stinks. But its comforable.
Seat is high, but one of the guys on SOC UK suggested removing the rubber bungs beneath the seat. Got to try that yet.
