Any photos of your after market brake lights? I'm looking for some added protection. What is a good brand of LED rear lights? I'm thinking of "Backoff" and maybe a license plate full LED frame.

I have the back off on both our bikes, lights will flash when braking, mine are adjusted to flash when I am sitting at the light.
I bought some LED marker lights and mounted them on my side cases, led strip in the top case, I light up pretty nice. During the day marker lights are not the brightest, I am thinking of buying actual LED brake lights - similar to those on the bus for my luggage.

I have a custom dynamics light bar with 12 LED's mounted just below my top box on the ridge of the luggage rack. The newer models do some extra things and you can now get a 21 LED model also. When I put on my brakes it flashes 5 times then goes solid. Just back off the brake and hit it again to restart the sequence as someone approaches from the rear, say at a red light. You can see it in action in these videos.

Hyperlites....they are great. Easy to install, bright as heck. I like the 3-ways. It has both the brake/runing lights and turn signals (very nice and claen setup). Get the Eastern Beaver adaptor to make installation super easy, and no splicing into stock harness.

+1 on the Eastern Beaver wiring adaptor. He gives you full instructions tell you where to find the place to attach the adaptor. Took all of 10 minutes or so to hook up my tail light modulator.

+1 I chose the 16 LED version without the turn signals for extra brightness.
I've got the BRAKE! taillight/brake light. It's a pain to install, but it's nice and bright, and gets attention. I also wired the Coocase lights to illuminate with the brakes, but they're not particularly bright.
But if I was to do it over, I'd probably go with the P3s or the Hyperlites.

Another vote for an admore solution. I have their givi E52 running, brake, and turn signal kit. Use it on my Wee and scooter. I feel uncomfortable riding without it. If you don't have a top box, a light bar might work. Mount it as high as possible - the closer to being in a following drivers face, the better IMHO.
