Did a tire change front and rear and after I got everything buttoned back up I went to start it the 09 WEE put kickstand up and two springs fell off the kick stand. :headbang:
Can't start it or ride it like this :furious:.

Where do I hook these two springs into?
Does one spring fit inside the other spring or do they hook separately.
How is the best way to put the springs on? So far it has been next to impossible to stretch the springs to hook on to anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am itching to ride with my new shoes so please HELP!!!

Assuming it's an OEM stand, the smaller of the springs goes inside the larger. They hook over bosses on the right side of the stand. Use a zip tie to hold the stand up and then use a boot lace or spring puller to pull the springs back.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I don't quite understand what you mean by bosses and where they are located.
My wife doesn't think I am too bright so I am use to asking stupid questions.

Thanks for any clarification anyone can give me.

Also technically it's a sidestand not a kickstand. Bicycles have kickstands. I'm puzzled as to why the sidestand springs would come off in the course of changing a tire?

I'm discovering this thread, coincidentally after I changed my rear tire;

I propped the DL650 up on the skid-plate, and in the process I imagine I tweaked/dislodged the spring or attachments. The spring will still bring the side-stand up, but it holds loosely and not tight enough to engage the kick-stand switch. I'm going to see what the problem is now and report back.

(it was working fine before I propped it up)

There should be two springs, one inside the other.
