Hey guys just picked up my first vstrom 650 its a 2009 used with only 3k miles. Picked it up at centrall mass powersports. I'm looking to buy some bags and basically anything else aftermarket for the bike. Yelled to some fellow rider tonight on main St to see if he liked his tilting windshield ( I got buffeting issues) love the bike so far would like to meet local riders around the ware/Brookfield area. Thanks!

Hey Clutchgeargasgo,
Welcome. Good advice from Tnkrplt ( Pete ). When I owned my '11 Wee, the Givi Airflow was the answer to MY buffeting. Easily adjustable, and created a quiet that worked great for me.

Ask Tnkrplt said, consider attending some Vstrom events listed under Events in the Vstrom Forums. Picking the brain of some long time riders, will quickly get you much information about your new ride. If you need more specific information about any of the weekend events, don't hesitate to P.M. me.

Ride safe:smile2:

Welcome to the site, nice looking bike in orange. I've heard the Givi works well, I started with a Madstad bracket which helped a lot, then added a Moose Touring screen which finished the job. Hope to see you at one of the events, there's one in VT at the end of the month mentioned in this forum, as well as NEVA 16 in NY, and Pete's Peep Shown in ME.

Welcome from eastern Mass. Yep, the windshield was the very first thing I upgraded on both my v-stroms. I went went with the Givi Airflow both times. As was mentioned, the Madstad also gets good reports. They really make a huge difference. When I sold my 650 recently, I put the stock shield back on because i was selling the farkles separately. I couldn't believe just how bad it was. For me anyway, it was virtually unrideable at speed.
Anyhow, enjoy the bike and be safe.
