Not sure how many people have been waiting for this but I know I have been waiting off on putting a decat and full exhaust on until a proper ECU flash was available.
My DL1050XT will be off to Woolich Racing as the donor bike on the 22.11.22 for 2 weeks. After that Woolich will have added it to there flashable ecu models.
From then on any bike tuner who who offers Woolich racing software will be able to do the flash.

From what I gather at this point and I will confirm later in this post "things we can have adjusted or I/O

  • IAP Fuel Maps
  • TPS Fuel Maps
  • Ignition Timing Maps (1st 2nd 3rd) power limiters removed
  • Adjust RPM Limiter
  • Adjust Fan Temperature
  • Fuel trim map/s
  • Disable o2 sensor
  • Disable fuel cut on decel
  • Disable top speed limiter
  • ADD AUTO TUNER
    • Quickshifter - (Requires Race Tools)
    • Launch Control - (Requires Race Tools)
    • Pit Lane Limiter - (Requires Race Tools)

I will add a full list here once all is confirmed in a couple weeks.
As I am the guinea pig, I'll add some dyno sheets from stock and stock exhaust to tuned with exhaust so people know if its worth the time and effort to decat and flash or just put a end can on for the rumble :D

Great news! Thank you for helping this process! I, too, have been waiting for this moment for a long time, and I have a different exhaust and intake system.
The limitations that are associated with 1-2 gears are implemented through the operation of electric throttle valves.
It would be great if they implement a quickshifter through the ecu, I have long dreamed about it!

Thanks for this. Do you know if Woolich plans to offer a flash for bikes that will run the stock pipe and intake? Would be great to see those numbers from your bike before the pipe and intake (if any) are installed, to see what the improvement would be.

Thank you for taking the lead on this project. Happy day for DL 1050 owners who seek to unlock potential.:D

Any idea what gains we may have available, esp. w/o adding a pipe/can? I know I can gain more but don't want the extra noise. YMMV.

SDS 2 is for the newer stuff...

Agreed on that

Woolich will give access to standard firmware versions, and then you or your tuner will be able to adapt them to your goals, regardless of whether it is a standard exhaust system or not.

The main benefits are that it will be possible to optimize the AFR, which will eliminate knocking at low revs, when you create a high load in 5-6 gears. And it will also appear to optimize AFR in other rev ranges. It will also allow you to remove power restrictions in 1-2 gears, make the fan work earlier, turn off the fuel cut and some other things that will not change the maximum power of the motorcycle, but will make riding it more pleasant.

Ahh I thought the limiters was like some of my other bikes over the years, done with ignition retard... good to know.

Yeah, looking at the 2019 tunes with pipes and going off what people have done with the 1050's with powercommanders and the likes.. Dont think theres much hp gain to be had.. I think the bottom end torque can be picked up a bit.

Will be interesting to see how much more fuel consumption is once 14.7 rather then 18-something at cruise. Thinking we it should be tuned abit leaner then 14.7 hmm 16.5 ?

I think you can get from 5 to 10hp. depending on mods. I created a topic about dyno measurements and described something that I was going to do as soon as it was possible to flash this ecu.

Personally, I will do AFR in the low rpm zone around 13.5-14. By the way, in the upper rev range, in the standard we have a rather rich AFR, around 12 ...

Speak with Justin Woolich to develop a quickshifter with an autoblipper for our model right away. It's technically possible and would be amazing.
This is one of the few things this model lacks. I don't know why Suzuki decided to save $100 on this...

Tell them to open up the cruise control to any speed and gear, I'll buy then.✌

Theoretically, they can do this, but something tells me that they will not spend time on this.
Everything works for them on the basis of the popularity of the request. If a lot of people often ask to add this or that motorcycle model or function to the program, then they see the potential demand and spend time and money on development. If this demand is not great, they do not do this or postpone it to the second, third stage, which may not come, since every year there are quite a few new models popular in the field of tuning.

Therefore, everything is in our hands, who is interested in this, write letters to Woolich.

The ecu flash for my fjr unlocks the cruise speed and gear.

Literally two boxes that need a new value. Can't be that hard.👍

Make a request to Woolich, maybe they will pay attention to it too.

Is it possible to fix the speedometer in the ecu too?
