Is this the rear brake light connector?

2588 Views 11 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  Philbytx
I received my Magic Strobes brake light flasher and the EB Brake/Tail Adapter V2 to hook the brake light flasher up to.
I think I have located the rear brake light connector located at the rear left of the bike under the seat on my 2022 Wee.
Can anyone confirm this is the right connector?

Supplementary question - How does one access it??? My hands are too big to get in there to disconnect it

I think that's it but let someone chime in and confirm.I know what you mean about your hands.I had similar issue. It may help to get a stool or chair and get comfortable.Have plenty of light on the work area.I sometimes expect simple looking things to be simple and easy but then they're not
I think it is also. Someone on here with the same model year should be able to confirm.
I am getting ready to order the same EB equipment as well.
You could unplug and see if the light stops working.

That is the connector. Some wires exiting that plug change colour.
For access you may find it easier to remove the bike carrier and rear guard.

Thanks Brockie. Just want we both wanted to know and the diagram makes it even easier!
After consulting the VSRI website on Basic V Strom Wiring 101, I ascertained I had the right connector and wire colouring scheme

Seeing as that connector is very tough to get at, I decided to just strip the sheathing covering those wires back a bit, to connect the Signal Dynamics Universal Magic Strobes Brake Flasher to the appropriate wires using the Posi products that came with the brake flasher

I don't know if it was from rain or from washing, but I have found water in that compartment more than once.

I'm not worried if it gets wet as it's completely water sealed.with epoxy

I hope you don't mind, DustyBoots, but I need to ask a related question using your FIRST picture:

At the bottom of the FIRST photo, there is a large, white connector there by itself. I believe this is the connector that's used to jump connections and access the Dealer Service Mode. If I'm correct, I have located mine and cannot, for the life of me, separate the connection. I've lifted the plastic retainer clip and pulled, tried using a screwdriver to help, pulled and tugged and cursed, prayed, all to no avail.

Now, I will admit I have not used all of the unknown-to-this-world super-hero strength God gave me because of the fear of ruining the connector (or accidently smashing the bike into fine dust), but.......

What is the trick to unplugging that connector?

Thanks,
Stretch

Yes, that's the plug to put the bike into 'Dealer Mode'
If you turn it over, you will see a 'tab' on the side of the plug

You depress that tab with your thumb nail or the tip of a smaller screw driver and just wriggle it off. Shouldn't be that difficult

That will expose the two slots where you insert your jumper wires to put it into Dealer Mode

Anyone buy an OBDII connector pigtail for their 2017+ DL650?
I got a generic Suzuki one that said it would work but it appears it doesn't work for my year☹.
