For the DL1000, I'm interested in not too loud, stainless would be nice, not too pricey (Less than $650). I've searched and searched but I don't see any nice summaries. I'm leaning toward Leo, Holeshot, Scorpion, or Akropovic.

Less than $650 - I think you have one choice, Leo Vince.

Look here for more info on the different pipes...

And here to hear sound files of them...

You can get the Leo's for around $460 - all the others I've seen start around $700 or so.

I have the Leo's and like them - easy to install, and good sound. You have the option of baffles in or out, and they also provide metal disks to make the pipes even more quiet if you want.

You will probably need to adjust your FI with either a ECM re-programmer (yosh or teka box) or add a power commander to deal with the added lean running with any aftermarket pipes.

Take care,
Bob S.

Leos are not stainless....Holeshot and Scorpions are excellent choices however.

Remus all the way. Awsome sound, with baffles in place. Or take the baffles out if you really want to piss off the neighbors.

Most riders talk about the performance increase and reduced weight of aftermarket exhaust. Some want more noise; I don't.

I'm interested in the increase in power, and in losing some weight. But these are expensive. How does the longevity compare to stock exhaust?

My Wee has only one pipe. Is that a bit cheaper than aftermarket exhaust for the liter bike?
