(since it has been moved this is Glee not Wee discussion)

First 5-min ride impression: they work good. Too good for my liking.

Feels like someone took a thick blanket and wrapped the front of the bike, and if it weren't enough put a big pillow on the road.

You can't even say you don't feel the bumps. They are non-existent. Your eyes see the pothole, broken pavement, but your hands don't register it. Very disconnected re-assuring non-inspiring confidence feeling. In the turns riding over driveway entrance curb you don't feel a thing.

Impression after 1hr ride: I need a cup holder. This is thing is ready for 1,000mi day.

Other assorted comments:

2) running straight RSF 2.5w may be giving just a tad little damping on stock Glee springs. It may need some extra 10w to fix viscosity

3) There was too much break-in deposits in left fork, x3 more than in right. This is with only 2k on the bike.

4) it is nice to have Glee back on the road, it has been sitting in garage for 2 weeks farkling out takes too long when you start doing a couple dozen things at the same time.

Thanks for feedback, those and new springs are on my short list for my XT.

I thought 5wt fork oil is the recommended weigh for the Ricors. At least that is what I use.
They made a big improvement.

What make did you install ?
To reduce brake dive riding 2up. As is stock Glee forks are not horrible, without doubt the best damping rod forks I've ridden.

I had done my share of Gold Valve conversions in the past and Intiminators much better than GVE no question. The reasons I went with Intiminators wanted to try something new and did not feel like taking and drilling rods out.

Unless you are heavy I think stock springs are just fine. I put in a heavier spring in the back.

1) Yes I am 143lbs so the stock fork springs are fine. And with 90% dive eliminated there isn't any reason to get stiffer ones.

2) Yes I also put heavier rear spring - HyperPro

3) (hopefully this will not end up in big oil thread) Silcolene RSF 2.5w ~= Amsoil 5w, and after a few days of riding the leftover oil mixed up to exactly right viscosity.

BTW did you do the hole enlargement (porting) on yours prior to installation? I did.

Too bad there isn't a show and tell set of pics to go with the procedure.
Sounds like it may be too good! What a revolting development.

there are tons of videos on youtube, wee isn't any different from other damping rod bikes. You do need to get a 12mm hex to undo front axle. If you could suck out fork oil or we had bleed screws you could do it without taking them off the bike, but if you wanna pump old oil with break in metal then you have to take them off.

Good idea to get a bottle of cheapest ATF (~7.5w) to flush out wear agents.

Ah, I used Black LAbs vid to work on the shock before.
Too bad they can't poke the little hole for draining like the old /6 series BMW's. Used to be piece of pie to change fork fluid.
I flushed all the old CaCa out with a light solvent before reassembly. Wasn't bad for 80K miles though.

Yeah I miss those too would make installation so much easier. No need to undo axle, brakes, fender, triples.. but I guess they staged a few bucks.

I am not a suspension wiz. I did not do anything to them, just emptied the old dirty fluid, dumped them in, made a different spacer out of PVC conduit pipe and filled with Amsoil 5w. Stock springs, I am 170-180 lbs with gear. A huge improvement. Although I often have the oldest bike in our group rides, when it gets rough and twisty I loose most of the bikes with stock suspensions.

I have since (after about 20k) sucked out from the top as much of the fluid as possible and replaced with new fluid. Will do that again this winter.
