I picked up my second motorcycle yesterday, a 2007 DL1000. I got a good price on it, but it doesn't have anything on it really. That's ok as I can personalize it now. I'm sure y'all will start seeing a lot more questions from me now.
To start off... let's talk oil.
When I looked under the seat there was an MSR fuel bottle that has 10W40 SJ Honda MC oil written on it. The bike has 5440 miles on it, do you think it's ok to switch it over to AmsOil Synthetic MC oil now? I've heard about not wanting to wait too long to put synthetic in, but I'm not sure how long is too long.
I don't have the owners manual for the bike. Is it ok to run the 10W Amsoil in the winter and 20W in the summer?
What can you tell me about the preload shock dial on the side? I've never had this before. What should it be set at? Is there a certain number of turns or clicks that means it's at a certain level?
