Well today , i took my bike for a service , and today was the day i was going to test ride the new v ,,

iN MY PREVIOUS THREAD seen it today, i went on to say how suprised i was that the new vee was shorter than i thought it was going to be .

I GOT IT WRONG , when i previuosly sat on it i dunno it was on grass , maybee there was a hump in the grass , but i was on the balls of my feet ,

Today , it was on the tarmac and there was a slight camper to the left , but not unlike most roads , Anyway i swung a leg over and i could'nt come anywhere near touching the otherside of the road .

I went to pull the bike up and just could not get any leverage , it was definetly taller than my wee before i altered it , the height to me felt the same has the previous dl 1000 , which is slightly taller than the 650 .

I did'nt struggle and get it up because , heh its not my bike and i did'nt want to drop it before i even rode away , so i just took the keys back ,

Whats it all mean , to most guys probably nothing , but to me has a , stumpy legged , gorrlla type of guy its too tall , , would it stop me buying one, yep sure would ,

The wee , well even though it was tall , it was still a bike i could throw my leg over and ride and not worry to much at lights , just slide off a bit to the side , the vee , no way its just out of reach enough that it would get dropped regular ,

The wee couple of dollars and i can lower it enough , but the vee , lowering links would'nt be enough , so it would mean having it done by a suspension specelist , before i even brought it home , add another 8-900 dollars .

Glad i'm happy with the wee ,

It does come with an optional lower seat that I believe can be had for free when you buy the bike. Me on the other hand is wondering if I need the taller seat.

Interesting--when I sat on the bike at the show it seemed quite low. When my bike arrived last week it seemed higher than my 07 Wee but is still ok for me. I wonder if the show bike hade the low seat option?

My dealer said the low seat is something he will have to buy , he said Suzuki are keen to get people on the test rides,, he reckons the lower seat only shaves off 25mm which is not a lot , .

I still think this bikes going to be a good seller for them , but it defenetly cuts out us short asses , I'm not too bothered , the wee is good enough for me , if i want quicker i'll just drag my rocket out of the garage . .

Had a test ride today on the new V2.
The seat felt about the same height as the Suzuki gel seat on my 06 Wee.

It is actually a lot.

On my 650 at 6'3 I could easily flat foot the bike. I just bought a Russell Day Long seat that's an inch higher then stock and I can no longer flat foot the bike. I didn't think it would make much of a difference but it really does. I was riding around last night practicing coming to a stop because it felt so different to be putting my foot down. Having said that in this case the seat is much wider, but the lower seat may be narrower? The width of the seat is going to make a HUGE difference.

I am probably going to need the taller seat BTW.
An inch or so either way is actually quite a difference IMHO.

I agree 25 mm is a lot.... I sat on a Tenere and with the low seat option (15 mm), it was an amazing difference.......

Other option for the OP, put some 3/4" lowering links on it and raise the forks in the triple tree similarly. Unless you need the extra ground clearance.
