How do you change the time on the clock?

Press and hold down both the select and adjust buttons with the ignition on until the minutes start to flash.
Then press the adjust button the change the minutes. Press select to change to hours then press adjust again to change the hours.

I think that's right...............

Push the left button slightly ahead of the right button. Eventually ...
That's the key ingredient, I fought setting the clock for 30 minutes the first time I tried to reset it. Dumbas luck I pushed the left button first and it worked. Then I wondered how the hell would you know to do that? I went back and reread the manual and it made no mention of it. :weapons_90:

For me it still isn't working.
On that note though, the trip counters don't come up either, and I can't get the clock to change to thermometer mode either.
The only thing that happen's is that the display changes from Kph to Mpg
I have tried the select button first and last, held those button's for 4 minutes at a time (you try that some time) with and without the motor running.

Mine is a May 2012 model black and white and I picked it up 2 days ago.
The guy doing the handover couldn't set the clock either.
I will be taking it back for it's first service in a few days, so they can look at it then and show me how it is done or if I am just going mad.

I have also read the manual 3 times. :fineprint:

Good thread!

Couldn't get my '09 Wee to go into the time set mode.
This helps!

Thanks!

So, does it matter if the engine is running or not? When I first tried to change the time the engine was off but ignition was on, couldn't get it work to save my life so I figured I'd try next time I went for a ride, maybe the engine needs to be running. Tried again with it running and worked with out a problem, got the right time now, or did I just get lucky and hit the left button that time?

Left button slightly before right is the usual key the manual does not mention. The other way around does not work and real simultaneous pushing isn't likely. The engine does not have to be running but, if it isn't, the headlights are on and the battery is draining throughout the process so I'll do it with the engine running.

Ah.... I bet that was my problem. Every 6 months I go through this. Tried it a couple days ago with the key on and held the buttons for a very, very long time. Didn't check the kill switch.

All the wisecracks here and no one has suggested it just takes connecting the battery at midnight? :D

[[Oh common, like you're really not up that late. I've seen your posts.]]

funny...

Oh thats cold dude...though I think the clock is way too small it would be nice knowing the proper method to set this thing... but I like the battery disconnect thing that was good. I usually depend on my cell phone or GPS for time the clock on the strom is way too small to be much use anyway. JMO

hold it down longer.

There's a clock? J/K

I suspect that I will rely on my cell phone clock more, since it auto adjusts for time zones and daylight savings time. And now that daylight savings time is based on some arbitrary selection of dates (all of which are too cold for riding here in MI), I can never remember anyway...

Setting the clock.

I thought that I was the only one who couldn't adjust the clock!!
I had read the manual and still couldn't get it to work. Thanks for the tip.
Now I only have to get my seat adjusted (I'm only 5'5'' tall) and I'll be all set.

Clock buttons

On my 2004, it was hard to tell when the clock buttons were properly pressed. They just felt kinda rubbery.

On my 2011, the buttons have a nice click and it is really easy to set the clock. Not sure in what model year this change was made, but it is much appreciated.

Nice work, Suzuki. :hurray:
