Thanx for the pix of the connector shape and pin configuration.
Based on your latest connector info in #13, it doesn't appear to match connector from your pix in #7.
I think that you will need to look for a matching male and female connector set, that you have to first unplug in order for you to connect this G-pack unit in series.
Once you have identified the specific connector configuration on the bike, you will need to record the wire colors of the located connector, then try and trace these wire colors on a wiring diagram for the actual connector naming on the circuit diagram. This will give you insight whether you have coupled to the correct connector or not.

Just wondering how your mechanic got on with this installation and how it works out for you.
As already posted, the GPS connector is located under the left hand side rear panel. The physical connector is in the general area above the top of the shock. For a better understanding where the connector can be located, consult your service manual on fault indicator code C31 and related sections it points to.

If it where my choice, I would rather have gone for the HealTech product, like the GIPRO ATRE G2 gear position indictor combo (GIpro ATRE G2 (GPAT) - HealTech Electronics Ltd.) or if one doesn't like the gear position indictor idea, then the X-TRE power box (X-Tre Power Box performance module by HealTech Electronics Ltd.). My reason for this is the good reports of HealTech support plus their DIY online installation and Q&A guides.
It's my understanding that a TRE is more beneficial to the DL1000 than the DL650. Maybe I'm wrong.

If you do decide to invest in the HealTech option, how about posting some feedback on how it works out for you.

I think that having the gearshift indicator TRE verson may be a bonus at times, like for instance when I find myself looking for a 7th gear as I allow the bike to really stretching it's legs.
