I've been stupid plenty of times before, so I want to check before I act.
I bought a 2008 650 last fall, and this last weekend took it in for a major (14.5K miles) service at Fay Myers in Centennial, CO. I asked them to save all my parts, and they circled that on the form.
When I picked up, no air filter in sight. I asked for it, and a guy brought out some random air filter that was from some other bike, and tried to fob it off on me. Red flag #1 They then spent a half hour "trying to find it". "The mechanic admits its his fault, he threw it away by accident". Red flag #2.
Then I got home and re-examined my bill, and realized I had been charged for four spark plugs. Now my old Transalp really does have four spark plugs, two visible, two hidden. But my reading of the service manual that came with this bike is that the DL650 has only two spark plugs. Yes? No?
Thanks
