How is the Strom ABS designed? Most (or all?) ABS systems are joined together, front to rear circuits, in some fashion even if it is just use of the same computer functions that monitor both front and rear braking. Worst case in my mind is a completely linked system where front and rear brake controls produce the same (or nearly the same) braking action as on a lot of BMW's - both controls activate both front and rear brakes.

Are the front and rear Strom ABS brakes completely independent? No linking? No connections between the front and rear circuits?

Can the rear brake can be applied without activating the the front brake? How about visa versa?

Are the 2 circuits joined at at one computer module that works both circuits or are there 2 computer modules for front and rear brake circuits?

Anyone know of a link to a design description of the ABS system? I couldn't find one.

Thanks very much for the links. That's just what I was looking for.

This looks like good news for an ABS fan like me. Finally an ABS System that is as uninvasive as possible. Maybe?

I'm surprised this system is not on the Vee yet.

There will be no more Vee's after the MY 2008.
The engine does not pass the new Euro emissions rules and apparently can't be made to pass them.
There have been heaps of posts on this topic over the last twelve months. There was a serious suggestion that there would even be no 2008 Vees in the USA.

Thanks for that "detail" about the Vee and emissions. I was thinking the Vee and the Wee might develop into near-KLR's in terms of long production life. But maybe they will have to go the way of the GSX-R750 and get a few redesigns and maybe one soon.

This is good to know.
