Ok folks, I just picked up a vee and I am trying to organize a small group. I have one strommer on board. We are planning for Saturday July 7th. This will be a fairly early AM ride because of the heat in the afternoon. I like to ride up north of Houston. I usually head up HWY 149 close to Conroe. If any of you in or near Houston are interested in meeting up and riding for a few hours let me know.

When and where

I live in Friendswood and might be able to make it. Would like to meet other Vstrom riders in the area. I just purchased a new adventure and wow, what a ride.

Since both of you are on the south side of town, would y'all rather me head south and we find some riding down on your side of town? So far I'm the only one from the north side of town. And I don't mind heading that way. It looks like we could find some good riding to the to the east of town close to Dayton or Baytown. Let me know what y'all think.

Ok here is the plan. We meet here 22610 Texas 249, Tomball, TX 77375 at 8:00AM Saturday July 7th. Its a Chevron gas station with a Mc Donalds attached. We can grab a snack, top off the tanks and then hit the road. I have been trying to print a map with our rout with no luck, so here are the directions. I will print these as well.

We will head north on Hwy 249 from the Chevron and continue until hwy 149 where we will turn right on hwy 149 and ride north to Richards TX (Its a nice ride that goes through parts of the Sam Houston national forest.
From Richards we will continue West on hwy 149 to Anderson TX and just past Anderson we will meet FM 3090 where we will go left, that will take us to Navasota.
From there we turn around and go back up 3090 past 149 to Yankees tavern where we can stop for a bite to eat before we head back. Yankees is a somewhat of a biker bar that serves good food and I have been there. This is a route that I have been on a few times on my old cruiser. I have yet to ride it on my Strom. Its a great route, 149 is very scenic and somewhat twisty. 3090 is very twisty and very scenic. This route is a very popular motorcycle route.

Let me know if this is agreeable.

Sorry Guys I'm going to have to bail on this run. The bike has started acting up I think it just blew a throttle body boot but I'm not sure. Its surging and popping at low speeds when riding trough town. So Saturday morning will be devoted to a throttle body sync and new plugs and checking the boots.

Congrats John! All of you greater Houston strommers: a group that I ride with called Clutch Crew is having a toys for kids ride on December 15th. Clutch Crew is a motorcycle riding group that leans towards sporty motorcycles. They believe in riding with all your protective gear and being safe. The December 15th toy ride is for the kids! So come on y'all let's ride for charity. If you are interested in joining me on this ride send me a PM and I will give you the details. Thanks, and I hope to see a few of you this weekend!
