Morning all

Newbie here, Thanks to Ron B on the Landrover forum for the info on this forum, I didn't even know it existed. I have a 650 V Strom, had it for about 3 years now and put about 25000km on it. I made a set of sheepskin seat covers for it and fitted an airhawk seat, bark busters, soft sided panniers, side crash guards, GPS, shoo roo's and raised the windscreen up as high as I could before I did a little ride from here on the Gold Coast up to a mates place in Emerald, Mt Isa, Cloncurry, Charters Towers, back to Emerald and back to the Goldie again. We did about 4500km in 10 days. Gotta say it was the best holiday I have had for years. We are now looking at doing another one from Emerald up thru to Cairns, Atherton Tablelands and back down again soon. I try to spend as much free time as I can on the bike ( when I'm not working on the Landrover) and try to ride to work whenever I can. I love the bike, it is, IMHO a great balance between on road comfort with the ability to travel as far as you want off/dare off road. I am slowly but surely converting a few friends I ride with from the cruiser thing (still don't understand the cruiser thing completely) one has sold her M90 for a Ducati 690 and her hubby has sold his M109 for Super Duke (we all cant be perfect I s'pose, can we). Just gotta work on SWMBO now and get her to trade up from the Triumph Speedmaster to a proper bike. We are lucky to have some of the best roads around where I live ( Gold Coast Hinterland) for social rides. Did a good ride on Sunday from here to Killarney pub, back trough Legume, Woodenbong, Rathdowney, (ran into a bloke with a great series 3 Landy), Beaudesert and back home again, 400k's in total and it was the end to a good weekend. Better do some work now, whinging customers, I could run a really good business if they would all bugger off and leave me alone:mod_biggrin:

Cheers Ian

Welcome aboard Ian.

So you know our riding mate Ron huh

I have had a four Landrovers in the past myself, along with a large range of other fourbies.
Currently have a Mitsubishi Delica L400 seven seater 4WD [they are grey imports here in Oz].

Alongside the Wee I have an old 1987 Kawasaki KLR650, there seems to be something about bikes and 4WD's that often mix them in the one garage. :hurray:

You will find a lot of members up your way too, they will chime in soon no doubt.

Cheers,
Ock

Thanks for the welcome guys, I am looking at doing a trip in December out to St George which is about 7 hrs from here and then taking the long way home down through Tentifield and every back road I can find to get home again. I gotta admit, I love riding the Strom, did 600km last Sunday from the Gold Coast through to Tentifield and back home again. I know what you mean Ock, the landy sits next to the Triumph (speedmaster)which sits next to the Strom. SHMBO rides the Trumpy which personally I don't get the whole cruiser thing:confused:, but she likes it and it keeps her happy.

Cheers Ian
