OK Folks ,

I really don't know much more about this than is posted in the link to this flyer ... http://www.hendersoncountytoyrun.com/

I heard about it on another forum . It sounds like it is for sure a Toy Run so unfortunate kids can have a Christmas . I think RidgeRunner may know someting more about this run as well .
It looks like maybe the CMA is going to do another one of their master mass feedings before the ride so I am assuming you'll be a little stuffed on the ride . That's a good thing too . If you have never been fed by the CMA , you never been fed .
Never the less , those that know about this say it is a worthy effort and allot fun .

Yea I would like to see at least a 20% turn out of dual sports or at least non crusiers. I know Vic and his scooter gang is coming I would at least like to out number the scooters.. So come on out and support a good cause. This is for the kids and who knows, hopefully not, one day it might be your kid or your nephew or niece, just come out and support this effort. There should never be a kid that doesn't get something to open on Christmas.

toy run

got to miss this toy run, obligations
Wes, that gps stuff is just too cool. just started fooling around with mine also instead of just using it like a map display. the go-to feature is nice, it will even argue with you and tell u to turn around, you are lost.
kind of like old "whats her name" ain't it ?

Well Ridge Runner . The weather prophets say it is 16 degrees out and FEELS like 9 degrees . Personally , I don't think they have a clue . After being outside with the dogz for about 2 minutes . I couldn't FEEL a thing anymore . Not sure what the problem is .

I should be headed out here in a little better than an hour . See ALL you folks there . Truth be told , with better than an hour ride to ge there , if it gets painfull , I am coming back home . LOL

Guys,

I really wish I was there because if I was there, then Jack Frankenfield would likely still be alive. Not that the Toy Run had anything to do with his death, but his death had everything to do with my non-participation in the Toy Run.

Jack was father of one of my best friends, Jim. Jim owned the first motorcycle I rode, a Honda Elsinore 125. His dad, Jack, was the dad that eveyone else in the neighborhood wish they had. He took his family and a bunch of the neighborhood kids on camping and canoeing trips, taught us how to shoot, drive and cuss eloquently, was also a sympathetic ear for many of the neighborhood boys whose fathers where otherwise occupied. He will be greatly missed.

On the up side, I'll be visiting three nieces born into my family in the last year or so.

Next week, I should be back to form, offering my usual array of posts, ranging from the inane to the asinine. Have a Happy Thanksgiving and hug someone you love.

Norman ,

Hey Bro , you are where you need to be . It's always NOT A GOOD THING when a best Pal's dad leaves us . Especially one who was known to have taken on an entire neighborhood full of kids as if they were his own . I can remember a dad in my neighborhood that was that way . I can't say enough about how badly the kids needed him . And so many parents had no idea how bad we did need him .

Anyway , enough of all the warm and fuzzy coming from me . This was my 1
1st toy run for Henderson County . We cold have used you to thin out some of the leather but we had the ugly part covered no problem .

There is a new game in play for Strommers , so check out the North American Thread . You might want to get invloved .

Nice to meet a few of you at the Toy Run, I was really surprised how many Stroms are out here now. I thought I was the only for the past three years. :D

Wes, it was nice to meet ya and there was a few other I chatted with a little.

Hope to get to ride and learn to be a better rider.

Jon ,

Yeah man , I am always willing to ride when the opportunity arises . I am not a real fast guy myself . I like to get out and bump around and just see the sites , hunt down lunch and take a bunch of pics . If you aren't into hammering , I am the guy to ride with . I all to often get hooked up with the much faster and much more skilled rider group and in over my head , but still have fun as long as they give me the BBQ coordinates before they all throttle me off the map . LOL

If the weather holds this weekend , I would be up for a good run somewhere around SC where it is warmer . I don't know the good roads down there very well , but it's time to learn in the winter months . Hec , I might even do a Thanksgiving Day ride . In fact , I am gonna look at some maps and the weather now for that .
