Hi guys,

I just installed a new engine. See - Blown Engine thread.

Everything is hooked up. But the dash has a red light and the oil indicator is on. Yes there is oil in the bike. Just filled it up and changed the filter.

What is the problem? Do I have to fill the filter before I put it on?

Is it a left over error from the old engine when it blew?

Bad sensor? Forgot to plug in sensor?

Help!!!!!!!!

How long did you run the engine? It takes a few seconds to fill the filter and galleries. I take it you had a clock visible rather than an FI.

Thank you Grey Wolf. i found the answer in another post you made. The wire on the clutch fell off and hence would not start.

Thank you

Good. I thought the engine started and the red light stayed on from your description. The red light will always be on when the engine is not running as there is no oil pressure. It will also come on if there is an FI fault indicated at the clock position even if the oil pressure is okay.
