New DL650 rider who also has a Xmax 300 in the garage. It was a crazy hair purchase after I sold my 2021 Goldwing last year (thinking I am done with riding and gave away much of my gear). Prior to that I had a BMW R1200RT, Yamaha Super Tenere, Honda ST1300, and Suzuki Burgman 400 as I have only been riding since 2012.

Still trying to decide if my used 2017 Vstrom has the low seat option? Definitely thinking about replacing the risers on it with some that also pull the bar back a little. Then it's what crash bars and highway pegs to get (it has a SW Motech bash plate), tank bag (for water bladder etc), and bigger top case. But, I do like how easy it's to ride so hoping to log some miles. Also, need to upgrade the wind shield (thinking Madstead) as I am looking for some quiet air.

I have already install mirror extenders (from Adventure Tech), but need to try again with Loctite as they are always breaking lose. Have also lowered the pegs and my 32" inseam is still feeling a little cramped (hence why I'm wondering if I purchased a big with the low seat option). Anyways, looking for advice and will share advice as well (when I can contribute).
Mark

Welcome to the forum, Mark.

I have the SW Motech skid plate and went with SW Motech crash bars too. For a tank bag I started with the SW Motech Bags Connection Engage but got to be too small so upgraded to the SW Motech Bags Connection City. I've been happy with all and would buy again.

Seems there's a theme there. :)

Nice bike and welcome to the forum, lots of good folks and information here.
The Givi Airflow shield is pretty nice too and worth looking at.

Welcome to the forum Mark Xmax. I might suggest a tapering trim to the sides of the saddle foam. A number of manufacturers are doing this to accomodate shorter owners to better reach the ground. An upholstery shop could do this for minimum. Don't trim too much or the seat cover contour may not conform.
Welcome - from tropical Queensland. Good bike choice. 🏍

I appreciate the information, just read a few posts about the SW Motech crash bars having issues, hence giving it thought to other options.

Thanks for the information, but thinking my post was poorly written. I'm actually 6' with a long torso and 32" inseam, hence was not sure if one of the previous two owners of my Vstrom had installed a low seat option as it seemed quite low (granted, that's not a bad thing vs not being able to flat foot it).
