So, my headlights are down.
It isn't the bulbs or the fuses, and the small marker lamps in the headlights are still on, the tail light works, brakes and turn signals work....

I had to work late yesterday, and again tonight, so I haven't had a chance to do simple things like verify continuity...I see something in the "tags" about a headlight relay but I didn't see it in my maintenance book.....

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

I'm riding a 2012 V-Strom, essentially no issues since I bought it.

suggestions would be appreciated.

If the Gen 2 Stroms are like the Gen 1s, the culprit is your starter switch on the bar. The starter switch acts as an interrupt switch and cuts the current to headlights when you press to start. Eventually, the contacts get burnt/oxidized and the headlights don't work or work intermittently. The temporary fix is to disassemble the switch and clean the contacts. The long term fix is to buy a set of headlight relays from Eastern Beaver. Here: H4 Kits

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'll take a look this weekend.
Seems like a silly design.
