This is an '04 with 14,000 miles. Bought it one year ago. The wee sat for two weeks after I returned from a 2000 mile ride in july. For the first time, starting didn't hapen right away. Took two or three minutes of cranking - very unusual. usually starts instantly.

Also, on the short ride, I think i detected a gasioline odor. I know that the manual suggests replacement of some "rubber' parts in the fuel system, long before 14,000 miles. Anyone experienced this problem?

Time to yank the tank and go looking for seeping gas. Don't use a match to light the way.....
Vehicles that sit long time, like 14K in 7 years dry out. Hopefully it's an easy R&R of a hose.

It could just have been flooded. Any time it doesn't start right away, open the throttle to give it more air. It could be that simple.

Mine always has a gas odor from the vent near the tank. If you did not see any fuel dumping from the rear connection and none on the ground I agree with Grey Wolf, flooded.

Flooded?

Thanks all. I'll try it.
