Handguard bolt size and buying options online (Europe)

1802 Views 8 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  konradphoto
Hello,

I wonder if anyone could help me identifying the size of the bolt that goes into the end weights with the handguards (see this part) . I think (based on my own measure) it's M5x140.

Second question - doesn anyone of you know where I can buy this bolt (prefereably from a European online store)? I've been looking online but I can't find anything (yes, I need only the bolt, not the whole handguard set).
Many thanks!

The non hanguard bolt is part #09127-06018 M6x110 and has to go through the handguard and an extra spacer, so I guess 130mm-140mm would be about right.
The bolts are not listed as separate parts as they come with the handguards as a kit.

You are looking for an unusually long countersunk M6 bolt. Try an industrial nut and bolt warehouse.

I had to resort to ebay overseas sellers for an unusually long pair of Triumph bar riser bolts for my Tiger. But they arrived in acceptable amount of time. Quality was good too.

Your late model screw may not have a countersunk head..

Alternately try the Suzuki catalog for a longer version of the 6x110 screw

I did find these in the UK which are non-countersunk coach bolts but should do the job.

I also use MSP and am very satisfied with them. But yeah, it looks like that bolt (essentially the part number that Brockie posted but about 20mm longer) isn't sold separately. But it's a standard M5 bolt that you should be able to get anywhere.
It is M6

M6 would be the most common size bolt on bikes

If you don't know your bolt sizes find a couple of different size bolts on your bike for reference that you can use when required.

Then you only need to measure the length.

M5 bolts are quite rare on bikes.

I just went through the same thing and I got mine off Ebay. Took me a few phone calls and a few hours to locate it.
The part number is 02123-0680B description is Screw and IIRC it's an M6×90. It also fits Suzuki Marine equipment.
