The Vee was very angry about being put on a trailer.

So angry it decided to tip over, break some plastic and move the radiator a little. None of which would have happened had I put the crash bars back on before trying to load it. Really not the way I wanted to say goodbye as it was being prepped to be driven to the new owner today.

All these years and the bike has never been close to laying down. Once it was inside MZBuckeye's Harley front wheel, but still not all the way down. And now 18 hours before turning over the keys...it happens. :headbang:

I called the "about to be new owner" and let him have the news. He's a life long buddy from high school. We talked, worked things out and my wife drove it up to him today on her way to another nearby spot.

You can image how happy I was to learn that one of my tie downs moved and rubbed away the paint on the other fairing. :headbang::headbang:

It's been a bad 24 hours.

Jon,

It could have been worse.

You could have lost a leg.

Talk to Reuben about it.

Back in the day, when I was building my Caribous to deliver to customers, by the end of a given boat, I wanted to beat it with an ax because I had grown to hate it so much. But, I couldn't do that! A customer had paid me to build them a kayak. I had to deliver it.

The most time consuming part of the process was the custom paint jobs that I gave each boat. One particular boat, I was finishing up for a customer and my 6 year old daughter was "helping" me. I turned my back at one point to do something, then turned around, and there she was, "helping me", by sanding the freshly painted deck of that kayak with 60 grit sandpaper........ I was to deliver the boat the next day........

I feel your pain, Jon.

I will never trailer without a locking wheel chock and a canyon dancer bar harness. I was trailering my new to me YZF600 years ago, looked in the mirror, and it was lying on its side. I feel your pain!

Seriously, good luck with the new bike, let us know your thoughts on its performance.

Just mail it to the new owner piece-by-piece.

Glad it's finding a good home, but damn you are going to end up paying the guy to take it:headbang: All is good as it is now out of the way and the new owner can enjoy it.

It can be a little frustrating when the world seems to be conspiring against you!

It blew my mind that I managed to get mine home on a trailer in one piece.

The guy that took my old bike away had just sold his the night before. He told me the guy that bought his showed up with a trailer and a bunch of tie downs. Seems he flipped bikes for fun and profit and trailered bikes "all the time" and "hadn't had an issue yet". He said he followed the guy through town as they were headed out to run an errand. Right in town the trailer hit a pothole, jumped out to the left a foot or so, and the bike went right over in the trailer.

Yep. Good times.

Now you've gone and done it.

Looks like the Suzuki Goddess is trying to send you a message...

Good lesson - these bikes don't belong on trailers!
+1 The only real scratches I have put on my wee have been from loading it in a truck and tying it down. My brother in law talked me into hauling our bikes to the tail of the dragon area instead of riding.

I hope it was the last time I take it somewhere without riding it.

Still wondering why it's loaded on the trailer backwards. Never seen that with a bike with a windshield.

You should have just followed his truck and trailer on your bike.

You can forgive him his naivete vis-a-vis motorcycle trailering it's not like he's addicted to chrome.
