I am organizing a weekend ride to Glen innes on 3/4 march in conjunction with gold coast suzuki. The ride will be a b grade ride 80%, 20% gravel. Route will be Casino, Rocky creek dam road, Tenterfield, Glenn day one. Day two will be Old Grafton Rd, convict tunnel, Dalmorton, Grafton for lunch. Home via Wiporee, Casino, Kyogle, Murwillumbah and back to Gold Coast. Accommodation will be Tattersalls motel at Glen Innes. This will be a great weekend, covering some of the most scenic and picturesque country northern NSW has to offer. All interest contact myself or Mal at GC Suzuki asap so as we can establish numbers.

Saturday run

Hey it was nice to meet you at the servo Saturday, Toecutter. That blue Strom is really nice mate (I am not biased at all eh!) Our little social run ended up with 3 Stroms, the 2 Ducatis that you saw, a Bandit and a couple of Honda CBRs and a DRZ. Good variety of bikes and and an excellent day.

Steve I may join you for the Saturday run only, I will PM you if I can go, to see what your plans are. The run I just mentioned above was for a bunch of sparkies on Saturday, we had Ken from GC on his red strom he just got registered, he loves it. Its great to see.

I can make it for the Saturday leg. May get as far as Tenterfield, we'll see how the day goes. Then I'm turning around and heading back to the Coast.

I'll be at the Tally Primary School ready to go at 7am.

Was supposed to do my cam chains but haven't heard back from bloke who was going to help me and time is running out so sod it, a few more kms of rattly chain won't hurt.

Have done the oil change, beaten my skid pan back into shape and just need to give it the paint a touch up before putting it back on the bike.

Tx to RTLiney who was going to loan me his Orange Strom - it's used to falling over!! Very nice gesture, much appreciated. The bastard will be there on his new DR650.

So Mustang, are you in for the Saturday?

And g'day to the other steve c (TweedStrom) who I caught up with at Tumbulgum Pub on Sunday.

Hmmm...

So - Tally Primary School ready to go at 7am Hey Steve. My Mt Warning walk (yep walk, I know... there is no bike track up there) has been moved to Sunday after our breaky meeting at Nerang. So...

Just in case I am tempted for this Sat, what has the ride got installed to Tenterfiled? Is it a DR ride (I am not even minldly interested) or is it a DL ride that may suit me..? Please let me know just in case I can wing it.

... what has the ride got in store to Tenterfiled? Trevor
Toecutter has outlined the course as "m/bah /kyogle/ettreck/pecock ck/tabulum/rock river road".

From Kyogle, that Ettreck to Peacock Creek bit is basically around the back of Toonunbar Dam, crossing over the Richmond Range track.

I've taken the knobbies off and only have dual-sports so nothing too adventurous for me. I'm happy to take it easy. I'm not sure we're get as far as Tenterfield. Will just have to see how we're going and decide accordingly when to turn back for home.

Getting past a fallen tree.

Good news is there was not dust.

But it rained and rained then rained some more. The road around the back of Toonumbar Dam was dam slippery. A few of us only had dual-sport tires which might as well be slicks in these conditions. There were a couple of fall-overs but nothing serious.

I think there were 5 VStroms and about a dozen DR650s.

Wrong turn + flat tire + mud + tree + fall overs = running late. We got to Bonalbo around 12:15. The group turned south towards Glen Innes. I turned right to ride back to the Coast via Urbenville.

Popped in to see how Darryl is recovering from his busted shoulder. Must be alright 'coz he was out riding! Amanda is ready to pop a baby - due in 6 days. Helen and her puppies were not to be seen.

All adventure rides have their own character and though the weather wasn't the best, I think all were having a good time. I predict much knuckle dragging and chest beating around the pub fire tonight. Big tx to Dave ToeCutter for leading the ride, and for Mal & Gold Coast Suzuki for organising it.

Feral :)

A party of five bikes (including me) separated from the others and decided not to do the old Glen Innes (in increasingly heavy rain). Havn't heard from the others yet.

And yeah, that log was a big hint that having the big (HEAVY) bikes on that track was not a good idea ;). Several "cross or die" water crossings also added to the fun.

The rear puncture that cost so much time was a beaut, the tube had split all the way round and fragments were lying in the carcase - a real blowout.

Food was excellent at Glen Innes , and it was party time at the RSL :).

Cheers
Pete
