I am running 2 Kappa 40 liter hard side bags on my 02 DL1000 and am considering replacing them with 2 new Givi Trekker 46 liter cases. I also have a Kappa K48 topcase which I'm planning on keeping. Am I correct to assume that the new Givi Trekker cases will fit on the older Kappa 3 point frame mounts? Am planning on replacing all 3 cases with new lock cylinders. Are the key cylinders interchangeable between the 2 brands & case types? I want to use 1 new key for all 3 cases. Possible?

Yes and yes. Kappa = Givi. As long as you don't have the PLX cases (not flat on the rack side) then they will all fit.

couldnt a locksmith rekey the locks to match

Spend a couple of $$'s on the three lock set and all will be good.
