Hi,

Just installed a set of the Givi PLR532 rapid release racks and a pair of E36 side cases on my Wee. Today was my first ride with them, and as I was getting off the bike at work this morning, my right knee came down hard on the left side case, knocking it off the top locking clip, but not off the bike completely, The end result is that one of the case's peg holes (forward one) that you use to place the case on the rack before locking it in got kind of stretched or flared.

I can't take or post a photo now at work, but I was thinking of taking a heat gun and warming that area up and trying to flatten the area I stretched once warm. Anyone had this happen and try a similar fix?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Heat gun did the trick.
Good info to know for future reference.
Guess the cases are thermoplastic, which, as you found, can be heated and re-formed to some extent. If the cases were of thermoset plastic, once formed, can never be re-molded. The heat gun would have made a melted blob of disaster for you!
