I have a 08 650 wee with Givi crash bars installed. Thinking of adding frame sliders. I received an email response from SV Racing regarding a slight mod required to the slider for installation. Any thoughts on this combo???
Got the combo and works fine. Left slider didn't need to be cut but probably should because the bar is pushing on it. Right crash bar would not go on without slider being cut. Blair has recommendations on how and where to cut the slider. I used a file, gouged out too much material on the slider and looks a little half assed. One of these days I will replace the sliders and do it right.
By the way, no vibration issues with the crash bar that others have mentioned.
Put Givis on last week and took off Motovation sliders. It is a shame that the Givis don't quite arc enough over the bolt to accommodate the right slider. I am eventually going for a amoto skipplate and highway pegs, so sliders would interfere with access. Otherwise, I would have made the mod and kept them on. I would think a quick shave on a lathe would give them a nice pro-look fit.
