Givi AirFlow Questions

I ordered a Givi AirFlow windscreen off Amazon. I planned on installing it today. It does not fit as the screws connecting the bike to the screen are 5mm and the holes in the bike are 8mm. I looked at the paperwork again and noted that it is for a 2011 wee. The description is D3101. The Givi site says that the D3101 is for 20012-2016. I called them an are waiting for them to call me back. Anyone else have this problem?

I too have purchased the wrong item in the past and needed to exchange it.

Amazon returns are thankfully relatively painless.
FortNine's site says the 3101 is for a 2012 to 2016 Vstrom 650, for a 2014 to 2016 1000, it lists the 3105.

I ordered them if I can remember from Fortnine and they fit my bike perfectly had no issues and am very happy but I do not remember the item #
I have an airflow on my 2014 DL1000. Again, can't remember the model number (PROBABLY 3105) and it fits and works perfectly.
Previous owner made the change - 8mm for 5mm connectors. Dont know if I can fix it. I am going to try and drill some holes in a screen off a 2019 Kawasaki Voyager. It is substantially wider than stock and may solve some buffering issues.
The Givi Airflow is a superior screen because of its two piece construction.
I would try to fit it.
Am I correct in your saying that the holes in the screen are 5mm, whereas your mounting bolts are now 8mm?
Why not put masking tape over both sides of each hole and using a sharp 8mm drill, carefully enlarge the holes?

The D3101 is not an "airflow." It is a one-piece screen and should fit the 2012 to 2016 DL650.

We sell all Givi products. The warehouse is literally just down the road and we are on a first-name basis. We call and tell them what we want and it is waiting for us by the time we get there.

The airflow for that bike is AF3101. It is a two-piece screen with seven inches of adjustability.

I may do just that. I have already drilled the Kawasaki screen. However, this will be a last resort, because if I mess up I will be out $200.00 plus dollars.
I also have a Gen 1 airflow on my Gen 2 650. Doesn't fit as-is. Some aluminum bar, wellnuts, grommets, rubber hose to make spacers and appropriate sized bolts made it all work. I think it's better than the real deal because it sits a bit further forward.

The only reason I did that is that the barely used Gen 1 AF was very inexpensive and local so worth the effort to make it work.
These do work but tend to fall apart unless you modify ( easy enough) - cheap enough too.

The threaded section of the screen bolts are M6 not M8 on the V2

I did notice you have posted in the wrong section before, is this also in the wrong section ?
Still getting the hang of this. The site I remember only had two basic sections...
No problem it just the answers you get will be more appropriate if you can get them in the right place and the more knowable guys on that model will see it.

Just open up the heading for your year bike and start there.

This is a very friendly & helpful place to visit, that is why many keep coming back.
