New here and figured i would drop a line and say hello and ask a stupid question. I searched but didnt find a good answer. Anyone know the hp and tq numbers on the wee and vee? Just wanted to make a comparison to my HD(which is up for sale! before the egg throwing starts..lol) to help me decide between the two. It will be used 90% of the time commuting to work solo with weekend 2-up rides. Combined weight of me and mrs will be @350.

Thanks for any info....

Good choice!
I can answer half of your question. The 650 is about 62hp at 8500RPM, and 42 ft/lbs. at 7000RPM.

I guess i need to ride a wee. Before the HD all i ever owned was sportbikes, kinda worried about the power, especially 2-up.

Believe it or not, it is a good bike 2 up. It will not rip your arms off, but it has just enough and a very smooth torque curve to make it very rideable 2 up.

Funny that 90% of the good stuff i read is on the wee. Usually it the bigger bike that gets all the credit.

Now im thinking on the abs issue as well. All of our harleys at work now have the abs and i really like it. Made a HUGE difference is an emergency stop.

I went from a 1000 to a 650 and thought 2-up might be a problem. I was pleasantly surprised that the bike does fairly well lugging 2 people around. It's not fast but still plently quick to leave traffic behind. The 1000 on the other hand, still pulls like a freight train. IMO, the 650 is plenty for 2-up, the 1000 makes it so you can go fast while doing it. If I was doing 60% or more 2-up I'd probably take the 1000, otherwise I think the 650 would be my choice because I enjoy it more when I'm alone.

Am lucky enough to have both (650 is the wifes bike) and also have a DRZ and Sprint for other toys. If i had only ONE bike in the garage ... it would be a DL650 ....
