We are in to February now and I am really getting the itch to ride. Tired of looking at the bike sitting in the garage, seat off with a charger on the battery!

Oh well, I started a new job with a new company the first of January and my learning curve is HUGE and my travel is HUGE. I am really glad that this transition is occuring in January, February and March when the temps are cold and the snow is falling. If this job change had happened in June, wow I would be pissed!!!!! Maybe by April 1st, things will have settled down for me and I can start getting into some serious riding.

I am toying with the idea of hosting, Lane Tech Day #3!!! Probably looking at Mid-March on a Saturday here in Colorado Springs. Since we have two Stroms in the garage that need a look....we will be doing the valve check. I know I have 3 valves that are getting close, based upon my last check a year ago and will be changing out some shims. Of course, there will be food and drink for anyone that wants to show up for some fun.

Looks like my first trip of the year will be a solo ride to Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch. I am doing the ride alone, as I am from that area and will be spending a lot of time, seeing-visiting-catching up with friends in the Alpine and Fort Davis area. Seven days and 2k miles. I am doing this trip instead of the Mexico, Copper Canyon Trip. (Both the wife and I just aren't comfortable with the Mexico violence/drug situation.)

A good portion of my free time in regard to computer, motorcycle forum time has been taken up with Planning for RMAR. This is going to be a great Adventure Bike Event and I am thrilled to Ram Rod the thing!!!!

Cheers my friends.....this boy is ready to start riding!!!!!

Me Too!

Hey John,

Just to let you know you're not the only one that has an itch he can't scratch. :headbang: Here is a picture of my bike under the bag. All I've been able to do is tinker with it lately.

You know I'll be there for a John Lane tech day! I don't think I have anything to do this year - but it will still be great. Tires are still good, already did the valves. I can bring my left over shims and my mullet manometer. Maybe even some extra tools just to be able to help out. It'll be a blast!

I'm lucky I don't travel for work - I have been riding most of the winter as long as the roads are ice-free. Mostly commuting, but I did do a short loop to Monument yesterday. Only about 70 miles round trip, but it was still fun.

I'm itching too. Got to ride Penrose a couple weeks ago. A little errands here and there. Over to Iron Horse's place to help change a tire on his KLR. Thats only a couple blocks. Really want to get to Moab, but can't seem to get the time. Looks like I will be stuck in a swamp in Texass for most of March and much of April. So will probably miss the Kokopelli ride. I need a new tire on back of the Strom,a nd also the DRZ. Might get out for a couple hours tomorrow. Seems like this year, i have been gone aon the nice days, and home on the cold ones. This weekend should be nice, but again I will be gone.
