I had a little epiphany the other day while corresponding with a customer. I realized that some of the limitation present with the footpeg and control lowering kit would not be present without lowering the pegs.

So...... I am working on an inexpensive gear shift relocation kit with a target range of as a little as 3/4" forward to as much as anybody would want.

Target price $35.

As per the case with most of the solutions the production volume will be low and patents will therefore not be a viable option. So please support the SV Racing Boycott to in turn support this kind of development activity.

The parts should be ready this week. :smile2:

I will be needing some beta testers for this project. Must live in the US or be willing to pay for shipping. Must understand the work involved in developing these kinds of solution needs to be protected from poachers by supporting the Boycott of Sv Racing who steals final designs, copies them, and puts his own name on them.

Hi Rick, I have your footpeg lowering kit with the gearshift extender on my 07 DL650. I find the extender a little too long for my size 12 shoes and the stock length a little too short. Am I a candidate for beta testing?
The lower peg height is perfect.

Hi Rick, I am a big fan of your products and could definitely use some more space for the shifter while keeping the pegs where they are. I'd be happy to help with your testing.

The new kit can not be used with the foot peg and control lowering kit. The choices are going to be....

New gear shift relocation. Minimum gear shift move forward 3/4".

Foot peg and control lowering kit (without gear shift relocation).

Foot peg and control lowering kit with gear shift relocation. Minimum gear shift move forward 1.35".

.... and of course our retro fit kit if you all ready have the foot peg and control lowering kit.

Hi Rick, got a new 650 v strom xt. Nice! Plus own a 7 year old bandit 1250. Bought the lowering kit and works great. Need the gearshift relocation as I've fitted pivot pegz and gearshift is way too close for my aussie size eleven feet.
I would need either the retro kit or happy to trial another gear relocation setup.

I have an 09 650 and would be interested in helping beta test it. I'm 6'4" and wear a size 13 shoe. Extending that bugger would be helpful.

Any and all volunteers - Shoot me your physical address and I will get one out to you ASAP. We have four plates for trials. Use the contact form on our website to send your US address.

Instructions. Watch this video. It's the closest I have at eh moment. Gear Shift Relocation Instructions - AdventureTech, LLC.

The plate fits between the stock footpeg mounting plate and the frame using the stock bolts. They are long enough despite the added thickness of the new plate.

The plate has multiple points for remounting the gear shift. I suspect the best position is going to be the most forward and lowest position. The plate will assembled in this position.

You will want the clevis arm and the linkage rod to be at a 90 degree angle. This allows for an even amount of twist (push and pull) on the knurled shaft coming out of the transmission.

You may or may not need to lengthen or shorten the connecting rod. Do a trial fit with the the stock length before deciding to adjust length. The connecting rod nut threads are right hand on one end and left hand on the other.

Please do not hesitate to call me and text pictures to me cell. 509-539-2288

Hello all, I am testing one of these shifter extension plates on my '06 Wee and WOW, what a difference! The installation is very simple and only takes about 15/20 minutes with the right tools. I wear size 11 1/2 shoes and set mine at the highest setting which put it at just the right distance for me. If you have been wanting a simple way to extend your shifter I highly recommend trying this product!

Thank you sir. I have another free kit for a Vee owner. If you interested shoot me a PM.

This kit works without the foot peg and control lowering kit. It relocates the gear shift forward from the stock position achieving the effect of an extension between 3/4 and 1".

I had a request for one of these so I made a small batch.

Minimum gear shift move forward is 3/4". PM me if you want one. $35 + postage

See our foot peg and control lowering kit with gear shift relocation if you want bigger move forward with the pegs lowered.

Gear Shift Relocation/Extension - AdventureTech, LLC.

For the new guys, we invented the peg lowering and gear shift relocation kit for V-Stroms. It did not exist before then. Every similar kit you might run across is a copy. Please support the people who who come up with the solutions and boycott those who simply rip off other peoples work and put their name on it.
