Hi,

Need to attach the Eastern Beaver extensions to raise my handlebars 2". Much has already been written on this, I know. But here's where I'm at: I have the gas tank off already (thanks to the sticky thread found here with step by step photos.) Now I'm wondering, in order to access the electrical connections to be extended, do I need to remove the entire Air Box?

It's my understanding the connections reside on top the radiator, which seem impossible to access otherwise.

Thanks!

You can remove the airbox or release the radiator to lower it. The airbox removal gives better access. Mark all the connections to make sure they all go back in the right places. Some people find it easier to compress the base of the forward inlet tube to leave it on the front intake rather than to remove it with the airbox.

Wiring Extensions Eastern Beaver

I've attached three pictures of what I believe are the proper wiring connections. Do you agree?

If so, I'm puzzled, because the smallest has 4 wires and the smallest Eastern Beaver has only 2 (assuming I've found the right connections.) Which I would guess is for the horn?

All these connections seem to lead to the handle bars.

Thanks for your thoughts!

It looks like those extensions are for the older bikes. The Glee wiring is different.

Wiring Diagram

Jim of Eastern Beaver has asked for a wiring diagram of the 2012 ABS Wee - the part that refers to the handle bar extension wiring, particular to that model. I have the manual for the bike, but I'm not sure which diagram to send him. Any idea what page that is on? Thanks in advance!!

USA bikes are the 49 state legal E-03 plus E-28 Canadian model on page 9A-1 and the E-33 California legal model on page 9A-5. They have the same handlebar wiring. The E-21 European Union model and E-24 Australian models are wired a little differently.

Did you connect the right side wiring extension harness to the GREEN connector in the picture, on to the BLACK one next to it? Someone else posted that the BLACK one is the right side connector, but it looks like you were picturing the GREEN. Thanks.

These are the only three extensions from Eastern Beaver I needed for my 2014 DL650A. It's a safe assumption that's all you'll need for 2012, 2013 and I would expect 2015 as well.

1 VStrom Right Handlebar Wiring Extension ... Item # VSRHWE $29.95 USD
1 VStrom Left Handlebar Wiring Extension ... Item # VSLHWE $32.95 USD
1 DL650 Left Handlebar 4P Wiring Extension ... Item # DL650-LSBW $26.95 USD

You don't need the horn extension for the 2012+ "Glee" models. It says that right the EB website.

"2012 on DL650s are using this (Left Side 4P Handlebar Wiring Extension) INSTEAD of the Horn Extension. These bikes also use the Left and Right Bar Extensions."

TudorA, I think maybe you bought the unneeded 2-wire horn extension instead of the third item in the list above.
