I called Garmin about my malfunctioning eTrex Legend. I told them it's a few years old, but they told me they'd fix it under warranty! They gave me a WRMA# and it's on it's way to them. They said they would have it back to me 7-10 days after receiving it, including shipping time.
I was expecting to pay the $99.00 for repairs/refurbish. I will buy from them again.
My brother is thinking about a GPS for his new DL650.
I found a place that looks like it has good pricing on Garmin stuff. Zumo550 for $675.00 Are these good prices? http://www.gpsonsale.com/garmin/index.htm

Amazon has them for $650 no shipping charge. But, I would wait until the riding season starts to buy one. I'm thinking they will ugrade the current model with a wider and brighter screen, lighter unit, and much more accesibility to the internet. Like many of the things the new nuvi 760 has plus more....
Make sure the Nuvi's are weatherproof - I don't think they are. The Garmin site will tell you which units are "motorcycle friendly" (their own term). The Zumo is especially designed for bikes - weatherproof and intended for left hand, big buttons, etc.....
Mine eTrex Legend also stopped working, it would hang at the "acquiring satellites". I was about ready to use that as an excuse for an upgrade, and did a firmware update as a last ditch effort which fixed it.
I got my eTrex Legend back working like brand new. It's actually a different serial #. I guess it's a refurbished unit because it has a much lower serial# than the one I sent in. It looks brand new though.
I'm extremely happy with Garmin customer service! They fixed it under warranty.
I happened upon your post about broadway.com but I looked up www.broadway.com and this obviously not the right site. That's the best price for a zumo I've seen, can you give us more details?
