The first G-F3 event will be in the beautiful Laurel Highlands in Pennsylvania. The Laurel Highlands has several state parks and forests with miles of dirt roads. There are also many scenic destinations and attractions within a day's ride.

Check out the web site to find out more!

Anyone Doing GF3?

I was wondering if anyone on here was planning on joining me for the GF3 rides. I've ridden the area before. The pricing structure seems very fair. 2 nights of camping, 3 meals, a t-shirt and sticker all for $50? Preplanned ride routes or open riding. Seems like a no brainer. Was hoping someone was going to join me. Looks like plans are in the works for a WV event next summer also.

Ride365, I am working out details so my wife can accompany me, other wise, I was considering going this solo. Will mention to others on this weekend's impromptu SE Ohio ride, (see Big B Labor Day ride in "Events". Maybe you could join us this weekend?

Jim,

Since Big B's ride got cancelled I guess we aren't doing that. I see you made it to the camping trip at the air strip a couple weekends ago. I ended up having to work. Bummed not to have met you. I met most of the Columbus group you went with at the Romney WV event this spring. I plan on leaving on Friday the 12th around noon from work to head toward Laurel Highlands. I would be willing to head south to meet you and they take a more interesting route east if you are interested. I think I have at least 1 other guy joining us (also on a 2014 DL1000), maybe two. I think I have a guy from Pittsburg that will meet us later too. Come either way. I'm sure that this will be a fun weekend.

Only two weeks to go! I'm extremely excited. So are all the others that I've talked to. Come join us. It's going to be a great weekend of riding and fellowship!

As a note, everyone must pre-register through the web site before coming to the event.

Unfashionably late

I should read the Events sub forum more frequently. The G-F3 weekend is something that I would have gladly attended, but for the fact that I only came upon this thread on the eve of the event.

Maybe next time.

LOTS of great dirt, street, and gravel roads,
Lots of mud,
Lots of gravel,
Beautiful sights,
One dropped bike…twice,
Two bald rear tires (what were we thinking),
Lots of laughs,
One unexplored road explored,
One scratched nose from branches hitting face in unexplored road,
Several power windmills up close,
Three overly priced hamburgers at Seven Springs,
Five ski lifts passed overhead,
One broken turn signal,
Two super hot camp fires on chilly nights and afternoon,
One roadside chain maintenance,
One rainy morning,
One punctured tire,
One sunny afternoon,
Several feet placed on ground to save the bike,
Two great devotions with great discussion,
Six genuine and devoted Christians,
140 miles of dirt and street in one day,
250+ miles in three days,
Two amazing camp hosts that went well out of their way to make us at home,
Two excellent meals at camp,
One brand-new 2014 V-Strom muddy and dirty  (nice bike, Greg),
Two great tales of Paraguay,
One grandly beautiful valley with a lake at the bottom,
One covered bridge,
Two late nights in great fellowship,
Too much coffee,
One too many coffee relieving breaks,
Several U-turns (oops),
One lost pair of glasses…oh, you mean they are on my face??,
One amazing ADV weekend,
And one amazing and awesome God that blessed us.

Thanks to everyone that came. It was a fantastic weekend. I hope to see you all at the next event!
