Fuel pump didn't prime a couple of times but fault self corrected, now it,s stopped altogether. Get fault C41, relay has been checked, pump spins when 12v supplied direct. I'm no electronic expert but here's meter results; 12v measured for 3 seconds at Y/R wire on relay, where Y/R wire goes to pump I only get around 7v.
I need my bike back on road, only got a very short summer here, any help would be V. appreciated

That could be explained by a corroded connection. You could try to find where the crimp connection is hidden in the wiring harness. Another workaround would be to run a new wire from the Y/R wire on the relay to the Y/R wire on the fuel pump. The Y/R wire also powers the fuel injectors so check the voltage there too.

It occurs to me you didn't specify on which side of the connector to the fuel pump you measured the 7V. If it was on the fuel pump side, also check the other side of the connector as that could be where the drop occurs.

THANK YOU Greywolf, started to unwind harness insulation and saw a lot of verdigris, got a bit further and 4 ends of Y/R fell apart. I've joined them up and get 12v going to pump. Off to reassemble and will let you know if it works

One of my friends rides a light weight Suzuki Inazuma (250 cc) bike which went dead on a recent trip to some remote areas in Northern Pakistan. While troubleshooting, we discovered that one of the electrical connectors in the ignition circuit had gone loose behind the headlight cowling. While we were tracing the problem using a test light, I noticed that the fuse for the fuel pump showed power even while the ignition switch (key) was turned off.

Is this normal as I believe that the bike supplies power to the fuel pump only when the key is turned on and the engine kill switch is in the on position.

Can anyone explain the above?
